21 Powerful Prayers For Ethiopia

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

1.) Pray that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, will prevail in Ethiopia.

2.) Pray that people will know that their enemy is Satan, and he influences us to commit atrocities in our lives.

3.) Pray for the healing of emotional and spiritual wounds of division, strife, and atrocities.

4.) Pray for leadership wisdom to discern ways towards resolving the current crisis by asking God to help them resolve this war.

5.) Pray that “Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands to God.” Psalm 68:31b

6.) Pray that Ethiopia’s coffee and honey-producing industry will increase 100-fold and will enrich the entire country, regardless of ethnicity.

7.) Pray that their livestock population will become strong and productive and be available to all those who are malnourished or starving.

8.) Pray that they realize and utilize their hydropower potential and enrich their country and that all religions and ethnic groups will equally prosper.

9.) Pray that Ethiopia will choose God because. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance”.

10.) Pray that God will comfort and protect the parents, children, widows, orphans, and the poor.

11.) Pray for the cease of murders, gender-based violence, and massacres in each region.

12.) Pray for the safe return of those who have left their homes because of violence.

13.) Pray for repentance and forgiveness for all those involved in the atrocities.

14.) Pray that God draws all people to him, Jesus said, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. John 6:44 NIV

15.) Pray for peace, healing, reconciliation, and restoration throughout the country.

16.) Pray that the people will defeat the enemy (Satan) so everyone will have secure access to food, water, and safety.

17.) Pray that Godly peace will abound based on integrity and justice.

18.) Pray that Ethiopia’s government and all other forces will come to an ethical resolution of the differences they have.

19.) Pray that all that mourn will be comforted.

20.) Pray that all religious groups will live together in peace.

21.) Pray a blessing over Ethiopia. Thank you, Jesus, for the people of Ethiopia and their deliverance from this war and unity between all regions and ethnic groups. May your Spirit be at work within them.
